Assam: Sarba Siksha (SSA) Teachers to Retire at 60 Years

Placing an end to various speculation, Education Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma now announced that most the 29,701 TET teachers working under Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission, Assam (SSA) will retire at the time of age 60 years.


Addressing a press meet in Guwahati, ” the ministry said,”Each of the 29,701 teachers working under SSA is going to find a way to work till 60 years ofage. They’ll receive DA/ doctor allowances as with other country teachers. These instructors may even receive admissions each year from today onwards.

These 29,701 TET teachers are also permitted to accept casual leaves, sick leaves, maternity leaves and so forth such as an everyday nation teacher. They’re also able to apply for bank loans under SSA“, he added.

He said fleetingly proceedings begins for new contracts up to 60 years.
